Almost 80% of AMD driver team is working on VEGA drivers - Bits and Chips Skin ADV
Text Size

According to our sources, almost 80% of AMD driver team is working on VEGA drivers. This means that AMD is working hard to offer a good product “out of the box” from the beginning.

This strategy, started with Fiji and continued with Polaris, it's starting to pay off. Now AMD cards are often evaluated better than NVIDIA cards by the point of view of the drivers, and AMD wants to keep this level of quality. Also, we can read here: "Linux driver guys working hard on it for 4+ month and still having hard time getting over the hurdle without support from HW designers because designers are tied up with the next generation silicon currently in the lab and the rest of them already moved onto next next generation".
