The chest looks promising. The casing offers huge dimensions to store the product in a proper compartment, preventing any kind of damage during transportation. Also, it meets the eye the best way possible, so that there is the mystery typical of noble productions. If we were to judge Novatouch TKL just by the package, the final vote would be 10/10.

Yet, something might turn up one's nose. 179 € and ... plastic? Seriously? There are other manufacturers offering high quality mechanical keyboards made by aluminum for 50 € less. Why do we see plastic here? It looks like this big expense is aimed to the purchase of innovative technology only, so that the absence of the noble metal must be compensated by something else. Did anyone say "user experience"?

Despite the standard size of keys and the perfect spacing between the various areas, we realize this product is kinda Lilliputian. Novatouch TKL is, in fact, smaller than its sibling QuickFire TK: specifically, it seems Quickfire TK has been put on diet to remove those few inches, earning a lot in terms of desktop space.

Novatouch TKL offers the usual row of hybrid keys, supported by a FN button. Specifically, in addition to MediaPlayer functions, volume control and keypad lock, it has a four speed repeat mode ranging from 1x to 8x.

Where Quickfire TK had problems due to lay-out compromises of the various areas, Novatouch TKL solves them: the uncomfortable hybrid keypad disappears and, at its place, there are two areas with a traditional button arrangement. It is cleverly thought that, if a numeric keypad is really needed, it can be added via USB port. Honestly, this is an idea we like a lot.

<< You're now talking in plural, umbra, aren't you? >>
<< Well, I see two of us in here. Anyway, YOU... how did you manage to escape the asylum? >>
<< ... Do not ask ... >> (caught red bloody hand)
