MSI ha annunciato la disponibilità della nuova scheda madre Z77A-GD80 dotata di tecnologia Intel Thunderbolt e compatibile con processori Core di seconda e terza generazione Socket LGA 1155. La scheda è realizzata con componenti Military Class III ed è dotata di feature quali OC Genie II, Active Phase Switching (APS) e DrMOS II.
La tecnologia Thunderbolt integrata nella scheda madre MSI funziona a 10Gbps e fornisce i protocolli PCI Express, per i trasferimenti di dati, e DisplayPort per la gestione dei display, il tutto con un solo cavo.
