Hi Dino,
There is no balance option as it wasn’t something we thought was widely used. The mic-monitoring toggle is missing, which is something I’ve asked about.
It is a different headset to the Vengeance 1500, with completely different technology and drivers. It doesn’t use Dolby Headphone, for example, instead using the HRTF processing algorithms from C-media Xear3D. We evaluated the main positional audio technologies, and Xear3D worked best with the Vengeance 2000’s drivers (and driver alignment) and the equalisation profile we use. It may not have the same brand power as Dolby, but it does perform very well in this configuration.
The channel-configuration is set automatically (3D audio is on by default – you click the Bypass button to turn it off), so if the audio stream is 5.1, the audio output is 5.1, if the input is 7.1 it’s 7.1, if it’s 2.1 it’s 2.1 and so on, so there’s no up-mixing at any stage. It is a true multi-channel audio device in that sense.
Hope this helps!
