The site BenchLife has confirmed our rumors about the future release of a powerful 12c/24t Skylake-X CPU, designed to counter attack the new high end Ryzen SKUs. This CPU will utilize the Skylake-EP LCC (Low Core Count) Die, with 2 core disabled.

This new CPU is necessary because even the Core i7-6950X (10 Core, $1743) is barely faster than AMD Ryzen 7 1800X (8 Core, $499) in several benchmarks. So we can suppose that Intel will lower the prices of 6, 8 and 10 core SKUs.

According to our sources, will be possible to use Xeons based on Skylake-EP with the Socket 2066 consumer mainboards. These Xeons will be called to fight the 12c/24t and 16c/32t versions of Ryzen (X399 Platform).
