The usual terrible market analysts, the same who noticed that PS4 and XB1 have been an AMD APU three months after the official announcements!, are pessimists about the future of Micron Technology.

It's true that the DRAM market is very weak today, but Micron has some great trump cards to play. First of all, like Intel, Micron will be able to flood the Enterprise market with the innovative 3D Xpoint NANDs. According to our sources, some important Chinese and Taiwanese companies are in contact with Micron to commercialize high performances SSDs equipped with the 3D Xpoint NANDs and NAND Flash. But, unlike Intel, Micron has every interest in promoting the 3D Xpoint between all IT companies.

Also, Micron is the only company qualified to produce the high performance GDDR5X memories. This kind of memory will equip the next high performance and best selling cards of AMD (?) and NVIDIA, available after the summer. If Micron will not be avid, it will be able to conquer almost the 100% of the discrete GPU consumer market, thanks to the back compatibility with the GDDR5 IMCs (HBM and HBM2 will have a mass market just after 2H2017).

Like AMD, Micron is pursuing a mid-term strategy.
