The following benchmarks allow a more precise analysis.
The well-known Quadrant shows an overall result of 11,157 for the Ascend G7, which puts it on par with Samsung's Galaxy Note 2. In details:
Despite the reduced MHz count, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 does well, and proves to be a strong selling point of the Ascend G7. The CPU score is high, second to the powerful Galaxy Note 3.
The numbers in the video segment appear to be decent, at least according to Quadrant. In fact, we know that the iGPU Adreno 306 is not a monster performance wise, especially in comparison with the Adreno 220 - 320 series.
Achilles heel, the management of memory subsystem, with an overall performance not aligned with the rest of competition.
PassMark indicates that the performance of this new G7 is very good ...
... the problem, however, is to understand the different way of thinking compared to the one behind Quadrant: specifically, when Quadrant was acclaiming the CPU of our G7, Passmark just kills it.
The real comeback happens in the storage test, where the G7 proves to be particularly fast.
The same thing happens in the RAM Access and Management test.
Finally someone tells us clearly that Adreno 306 is a modern not-high-end GPU; yet, it is decent in terms of speed.
