Nikon ha ufficialmente annunciato la nuova fotomcamera Coolpix S800c la cui particolarità è quella di essere basata su sistema operativo Android. La Coolpix S800c è un modello point-and-shoot che dispone di una antenna GPS integrata per il geo-tagging, ottica con zoom da 10X, sensore BSI CMOS da 16-megapixel, display touchscreen da 3,5 pollici, supporto per cattura video 1080p, 4GB di storage interno e sistema Android 2.3 Gingerbread con accesso a Google Play. In questo modo l'utente può navigare, condividere e fare un po' tutto quello che si fa con uno smartphone... tranne telefonare!

Sul suo sito web Nikon riporta:

La disponibilità della S800c è prevista per il prossimo mese di Settembre nelle finiture bianco e nero ad un prezzo suggerito di $349,95. Seguono le specifiche tecniche complete:
