After the half disappointment with the "new" HTC's One M9 and the consequent triumph of Samsung's Galaxy S6 Flat Edge, LG has decided to offer another top model for the 2015 that will support the very good G Flex 2.

The South Korean giant is already distributing invitations for an event to be held between the 28th and 29th of April in different cities, specifically New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul. Unfortunately, LG did not disclose any info about what device will be presented (whether or not is the long awaited G4) because the invitation itself is misleading: it shows the phrase "See the Great. Feel the Great" on a background that resembles the typical leather texture of a notebook, definitely calling in a Phablet device.

Just to confuse the ideas a little bit more, there's the recent appearance on GFXBench's tables of a new LG model codenamed F500X, equipped with a qHD 5.5" display (like the previous G3) and powered by an "anomalous" SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 with 3GB of RAM.

We said "anomalous" for a simple reason: the 808 is not a top of the range, although it is still an excellent SoC. The only plausible solution is related to the fact that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 suffers of overheating, as stated by Samsung a while ago. In response LG confirmed the opposite and, in fact, there is a Snapdragon 810 within the G Flex 2, exactly like the one inside the HTC's One M9 (even if it has recently received a firmware update to improve the management of "thermal throttling", limiting the operating frequencies and worsening its performances).
