Il team polacco CD Projekt RED, noto per la fortunata serie di videogiochi di ruolo The Witcher, ha annunciato lo sviluppo di un GDR a tema Cyberpunk basato sull'omonimo gioco di ruolo "carta-e-penna" ideato nel 1988 da Mike “Maxmike” Pondsmith.

Il titolo promette una storia non-lineare per un pubblico maturo, con classi e meccaniche da GDR complesso e con un vasto arsenale di armi e abilità a disposizione.

"Cyberpunk" sfrutterà probabilmente il motore grafico proprietario Red Engine, già visto in The Witcher 2. Il titolo completo, la data di rilascio e le piattaforme disponibili saranno svelate nel corso dell'imminente E3 di Los Angeles.

Pondsmith, che sta collaborando alla realizzazione del progetto, ha dichiarato: "CD Projekt Red is the team we’ve been hoping for. Their incredible work on The Witcher and The Witcher 2 shows that they share the same dedication and love of great games that we do at Talsorian. I’m especially stoked that they want our participation in making this game a fantastic project that will live up to everything Cyberpunk fans (old and new) have been waiting for. Trust me -- this game is going to rock”
