Intel has abandoned the smartphone market due to the low volume sales of Atom solutions, but this doesn’t mean that Microsoft’s Continuum will be canceled too.

According to Microsoft available documents, Continuum will be based on ARM version of Windows 10 kernel (ARM64 environment).

At the present moment, Microsoft ARM support (ARMv8) is almost identical to x86 support, so we can say that Developers and Software House can port their own software from x86 to ARMv8 pretty easily. However, this doean't mean that Microsoft will commercialize Continuum for sure: the Mobile market is unstable, and Microsoft could quickly change its plans.
