Interesting news from Thecus. A few hours ago the company announced a new product from the N5000 series, the N5810 PRO, Thecus' first NAS with Intel's Silvermont Architecture. Like all of the NAS units within this family, the N5810 Pro offers the usual 5x 3.5" HDD bays, and lot of novelties under the hood.

This NAS is powered by an Intel Celeron J1900 (4C / 4T @ 2.0 GHz with Turbo Mode up to 2,41GHz) paired with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM (expandable to 8 GB), a 5-port Gigabit Lan controller supporting 7 mode Link Aggregation (Load balance, Failover, 802.3ad, Balance-XOR, Balance-TLB, Balance-ALB, Broadcast), 3x USB 3.0 + 2x USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port and a line-out jack. Supported raid modes are 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD.

Beside all of this could be considered just as standard feature, this NAS, combined with a 130W power supply, comes with an internal lithium ion battery that works as mini-UPS. In the event of a sudden loss of power, the N5810 Pro will continue to work until all of the pending tasks are completely executed, then it will shut down until the external power is restored.

There are no information about the price.
